What have you used David Anomoly Detector for?

Curious on some real-world use cases for this?

I am mostly using to migrate the current metric events that uses metric selectors to clean up our env limits.

And some others to alert directly from DQL where log events are not possible due to complex queries.

Hi @badgerfifteen

For the anomaly detection :

  • It provides you the historical, current entities behavior patterns.
  • Enables setting the alerting based on static / auto thresholds.
  • Customize the alerting thresholds for the attached monitored entities.
  • Detection of frequent issues impacting the monitored entities.

@badgerfifteen,

I suppose you are asking about "Davis Anomaly Detection". For this, some interesting examples are given in this Observability Clinic:

For me, the seasonal & security use-cases are the ones that I have experimented most.

Anomaly detection is indispensable in security to detect threats early or identify unusual behavior. For anomaly detection, our #Dynatrace Davis® AI provides different anomaly detection analyzers, which can be simulated in the notebook for better understanding.
