can we have the capability to select the metrics that we need, instead of all metrics in a given extension for example Google Cloud APIs extension.. something similar to what we have confluent kafka. this reduces the complexity of rebuilding and maintaining a custom extension, with the metrics that are needed for an organization. we know that we can modify the extension, instead if we can do it natively with in the ui helps us a lot.

You should raise a product idea about it, if you do not like to modify the extension.

The extension is only the presentation layer, it doesn't actually gather any metrics. Due to this having feature sets in the extension wouldn't make a difference.

There are improvements planned for a UI for metric selection, for now it is managed via the values.yaml file: https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/setup-and-configuration/setup-on-cloud-platforms/google-cloud-platfo...
