How to monitor AWS OpenSearch with Dynatrace

Summary: Dynatrace does not currently offer a dedicated native integration or extension for AWS OpenSearch. AWS OpenSearch can be monitored using the existing Elasticsearch supporting service, as most CloudWatch metrics remain available under the AWS/ES namespace. Some metrics were renamed after the migration from Elasticsearch to OpenSearch, and full OpenSearch‑specific support is planned but not yet available.

Is it possible to integrate OpenSearch AWS natively in Dynatrace or only through a plugin?.

I would like to know what options are available.

One way that I know of would be to use the ElasticSearch supporting service: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/how-to-use-dynatrace/infrastructure-monitoring/cloud-platform...

Even though AWS migrated ElasticSearch service to OpenSearch service, we found that not much changed. Metrics namespace in CloudWatch is still "AWS/ES" and most metrics stayed as they were. Only two of the metrics we supported for ElasticSearch will not work for OpenSearch (KibanaHealthyNodes was replaced with OpenSearchDashboardsHealthyNodes; ElasticsearchRequests was replaced with OpenSearchRequests), the rest of them should be fine.

We have work scheduled to provide full support for OpenSearch as a supporting service in the future but for now there's no planned date.

I do not see extension in Hub.

Maybe you can try Elasticsearch extension.
