Hello,
When adding a AWS connection, you get a list of "services" you can add:
If I understand correctly, this list is fixed, there is no way to add your own service?
(I understand you need t use metric streams for this)
Who knows if this is really the case?

Hi,
IMO the list is fixed and you can’t add your own “service” to the AWS connection UI.
That screen only shows AWS services that Dynatrace supports as built-in integrations (known namespaces/data models, entity mapping, dimensions, out-of-the-box dashboards, etc.). There’s no mechanism to extend that list with a custom service.
But you can do Metric Streams/CloudWatch metrics instead. So your understanding is correct, you can ingest metrics for services/namespaces not present in the list (including custom ones), but they won’t appear as selectable “AWS services” in that menu. They’ll still be usable for charts, alerts, DQL, etc
