Hello everyone, and peace be upon you. My name is Abid Yaseen, and I come from the picturesque region of Kashmir, India.
Throughout my journey, I have navigated various fields, but it has always been my deep passion for Information Technology (IT) that has shaped the course of my career. I completed my MBA with a focus on Information Technology and Marketing, which laid the foundation for my future aspirations.
However, my professional journey initially took a different path. After completing my post-graduate studies, I began my career in the banking sector, joining the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) as a Banker. I spent a few years in this role, gaining insights into business operations, financial services, and customer relations. While this was a valuable experience, I knew deep down that IT was where I wanted to be.
In 2020, during the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to shift my career towards IT. However, the pandemic made it difficult to pursue this change, and I ended up joining Amazon as a Risk Analyst. I worked in this role for a couple of years, gaining important skills and experience. As the world started to recover, I moved to the UAE and continued my work at Amazon remotely. Around this time, I started to focus on learning more about IT. I discovered Application Performance Management (APM) and Dynatrace, and I realized this was the field I wanted to specialize in. I decided to get certified in Dynatrace and began preparing for the Associate Certification. During this process, I connected with professionals from Dynatrace who guided me, and after several months of study, I earned my certification in August 2023.
This certification marked a turning point in my career. I decided to leave my job at Amazon and fully embrace my new role as a Dynatrace Solutions Consultant. Since then, I’ve been working on delivering Dynatrace solutions to clients, which has been both challenging and rewarding.
In June 2024, I also obtained my Professional Certification in Dynatrace, which helped me gain even more technical knowledge.

Before transitioning into the APM industry, my career spanned various domains over the past six years, allowing me to gain valuable experience with several well-known organizations.
I began my professional journey at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), where I worked as a Banker. This role provided me with essential business knowledge, including financial services, customer relations, and business operations, which laid the groundwork for my career development.
Following my time at RBS, I expanded my career by joining Amazon, the world’s largest eCommerce giant, where I worked as a Risk Analyst. In this capacity, I identified and assessed potential risks across various business operations. This role not only helped me understand the complexities of risk management in a global setting but also deepened my ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to mitigate risk.
These experiences in banking and eCommerce gave me a broad perspective on business operations and risk management before I eventually moved into the IT and APM sectors.
Currently, I am working with Your Compass, a Dynatrace Premier Partner in the UAE and the Middle East. As a Dynatrace Certified Professional, my role involves:
- Implementing Dynatrace solutions, ensuring they align with their specific requirements and industry best practices.
- Offering ongoing services that support the continued growth and effective utilization of the Dynatrace platform within customer environments.
- Assisting client teams and internal staff with troubleshooting performance issues and conducting root-cause analysis to resolve challenges.
- Providing expert-level support not only to clients but also to internal teams, ensuring high-quality service and knowledge sharing.
- Mentoring and training both customers and colleagues on leveraging the Dynatrace platform and applying best practices to optimize their use.
How does Dynatrace fit into the picture, and what was the biggest challenge Dynatrace helped you overcome?
Dynatrace has definitely helped me overcome several challenges. It has allowed me to learn about various technologies across different industries and make troubleshooting much easier. With its powerful capabilities, I can quickly identify the root causes of issues, which has saved me a lot of time.
In addition, Dynatrace has helped me improve my presentation skills. As I work with customers, I’ve become more confident in explaining technical solutions clearly and effectively.
Overall, Dynatrace has not only made me better at solving technical problems but has also improved my ability to communicate with clients.
What makes Dynatrace Community important to you?
For me, the Dynatrace Community has been an invaluable resource. I see myself as a student in the Community, constantly learning from the shared experiences of others and the wealth of knowledge available. The opportunity to connect with fellow professionals who share similar challenges and interests in the APM space drew me to the Community. It’s been a great place to learn about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in Dynatrace.

Tell us something about you that most people don’t know. What is your biggest joy or passion in life?
Outside work, I keep things simple and enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I play cricket on weekends, which has been a favorite of mine since childhood. I also love traveling to the mountains whenever I can, going on long drives, and having bonfires and barbeque with my friends.
