This month, we’re celebrating a member whose story shows how resilience can shape a career. It’s a great reminder that progress isn’t always linear — and that curiosity and consistency can lead to real impact. We’re excited to share the inspiring story of @Maheedhar_T, a member who consistently adds value to our Community.
It's official, we all want such a cool shot! 😄
I grew up in Eluru, a small town in Andhra Pradesh, India. My family has been my biggest support system throughout my life. My late grandfather and grandmother used to tell stories every day, which shaped how I think and made me curious about what happens behind the scenes and how things connect.
My mother teaches Hindi at a reputed college, and from her I learned discipline. My father works with Indian Railways, and from him I learned consistency. Watching them work steadily over the years influenced how I approach both life and career.
As a student, I was fascinated by automation and automobiles, which led me to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering. My initial goal was to build a career in core engineering.
During campus placements, I missed eligibility for core companies by 0.04 GPA points. Since I was eligible for IT interviews, I decided to prepare seriously rather than dwell on what I had missed. In my final semester, I crossed that GPA threshold. It was a little late for placements, but it gave me closure and proved to me that I could bridge the gap.
Around the same time, a startup partnered with our college to train 150 students for campus recruitment. I ranked 110 in that batch and made the most of the opportunity, which eventually led to my selection at Wipro.
From Wipro, my journey to the BT Group became a strong learning phase. Supporting the system, working within it, and understanding how large-scale environments operate gave me both responsibility and the freedom to learn deeply. When BT Group initiated a Dynatrace Managed pilot, I became a part of the early implementation team. That’s when I realized I was still doing what I enjoy most, working with systems, patterns, and automation, just in a different domain.
Looking back, the 0.04 difference was not a setback. It was a redirect.
With his family 🙂
I currently work at BT Group as a Dynatrace Platform Engineer.
My role focuses on implementing and enabling new Dynatrace capabilities, especially around logs and analytics. I work closely with application teams to help them adapt to new features, understand how to use them effectively, and continuously enhance how Dynatrace is used across the platform.
I always work to improve the technology rather than just operate it. This includes strengthening alerting, improving automation, and ensuring teams get clear, actionable insights instead of noise.
A major part of my growth comes from my mentors, managers, and teammates who trusted me early, encouraged me to explore ideas boldly, and involved me in key technical decisions. That trust helped me learn beyond just experience.
Dynatrace became central to my work during the Managed pilot at BT Group.
What I value most about Dynatrace is that it allows you to solve real operational problems, not just observe them.
One example is around OneAgent updates. In some cases, teams delay restarting processes, which results in hosts running the latest version while certain processes still point to outdated or unsupported versions.
Instead of manually tracking this, I used DQL and AppEngine to build an internal page that identifies such processes. SREs can track them and raise a P3 against the relevant ASG queues to ensure restarts happen on time.
It’s a simple solution, but it closes a real operational gap and improves consistency.

I initially joined the Dynatrace Community to learn and find answers. Over time, it became a place where I could explore ideas beyond my day-to-day work.
"The Community exposes you to different environments, problems, and perspectives, which often lead to discovering new capabilities and better approaches."
Being recognized as Community Member of the Month motivates me to contribute more meaningfully and continue sharing practical experiences.
My advice to someone new would be to participate actively—ask questions, share experiments, and engage with others.
Beyond tech, Maheedhar enjoys catching inspiring moments.
Outside work, I enjoy exploring new tools and ideas just to see what can be built.
On weekends, I either go on long rides with my brother or spend time gaming with friends. I’m also interested in photography and enjoy capturing moments that interest me.

Recognition adds responsibility.
It pushes me to stay curious and explore new capabilities early. For example, when OpenClaw was introduced, I started experimenting with it and built a small utility to simplify writing DPL rules, which I later shared with the Community.
Last year, when I created my vision board, one of the things I wrote down was to be recognized or become a key contributor to the Dynatrace Community. Achieving this before starting my next vision board cycle boosted my confidence and reinforced that consistent learning and contribution really compound over time.
Going forward, I want to keep building practical solutions that reduce effort and help teams adopt Dynatrace features faster and more effectively.
What I value most in my journey is the shift in responsibility and perspective. Being part of the BT Group today means contributing to how things are built, adopted, and improved, not just supporting them.
Over time, I’ve learned to look beyond immediate fixes and think in terms of systems, patterns, and long-term impact. That mindset shapes how I approach my work today.
A 0.04 GPA difference once changed my direction. Choosing to keep moving forward changed everything else.
We’re so glad to have you here and excited to see what you build next. Fingers crossed for all the goals waiting on your next vision board — we can’t wait to see where they take you.
