Hello Jose! Shed some light on your life’s journey.

I was born in Lima, Peru, although I grew up in Ica, a department in the southern part of the country, so I consider myself an “Iqueño.” Since childhood, influenced by my family, I dreamed of becoming a doctor. Still, as a teenager, the Marvel universe cine and series like "Gundam" led me to develop a deep interest in technology.

Thanks to a government scholarship program, I studied Information Systems Engineering at the Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola (USIL) in Peru. There, I met Jhisenia Cordova, who is now my girlfriend and future wife and has become a fundamental pillar in my life, always supporting my career. I also have fond memories of other great friends who were part of this important time in my life.

My professional career began at IBM Peru, where I started as an SAP intern and later became an SAP specialist. During this time, a colleague and I developed an automation for SAP system health reports, winning the “Call for Automation” contest at IBM Peru with my friend Daniel Molina, marking my first experience in innovation. At IBM, I was fortunate to receive guidance and support from great mentors, such as José Osorio, Henry Orellana, Richard Miguel, and Percy Estrada, who helped me grow professionally.

Later, at Kyndryl, I joined the Innovation Projects team, where I gained further experience in monitoring and automation. This position allowed me to work with tools like Zabbix, Ansible, and Elastic and develop skills in programming with Python and visualization with Kibana and Grafana. I also worked on data integration projects and obtained experience in observability, which solidified my interest in this field.

Subsequently, thanks to a recommendation from Milagros Seclen, I joined Dynatrace, where I have worked on significant observability projects, such as those at Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP) and with clients in Colombia like Nequi, SURA, and more. At Dynatrace, I’m grateful for the support and mentorship I’ve received from Cesar Saravia, as well as from colleagues like Juan Carlos Conde, Miguel Rincón, and Pierre Gutierrez.

Tell us about your work and what interesting things you’re working on.

My current role at Dynatrace is as an Observability Consultant. My main goal is to help our clients maximize their return on investment in observability efficiently and strategically. I work closely with each client to define improvement objectives, identify critical optimization areas in incident detection and recovery, and propose customized training and process automation solutions.

Some of the projects I have worked on include:

  • Release Validation: Evaluating the stability and performance of new versions before production.
  • Dashboard Automation with Monaco: Implementing a project Monaco to refresh dashboards classic in the Dynatrace Managed automatically.
  • Creating dashboards and preventive alerts: Integrating business data to provide insights aligned with strategic objectives.

Currently, I am continuing to develop innovative initiatives with Dynatrace. On a personal level, I am working on an automated irrigation project for a coffee, where I’m applying my tech skills to optimize its maintenance. This combination of projects allows me to expand my knowledge in both professional and personal domains.

What makes you excited about being a part of the Dynatrace?

I get great satisfaction from generating value with my knowledge and skills through innovative, strategic solutions and customized training. I enjoy self-learning, and at Dynatrace, I can apply all of this with our clients while continuously learning new technologies and analyzing different business cases.

Dynatrace, as a world leader in observability, allows me to help our clients realize and accelerate the value of our solutions within their operations. Additionally, the human team at Dynatrace is exceptional, and I am grateful for the support I have received from my manager Evelin Acosta, my mentors and my team.

What makes Dynatrace Community important to you?

The Dynatrace Community is a platform for learning and collaboration that I deeply value. Here, I can gain knowledge from experts and contribute by sharing my ideas and practices. This exchange of experiences helps me improve my technical skills, communication, and collaboration skills, strengthening everyone who participated at the same time.

"For me, the Community is where we grow together, combining our knowledge and experiences, which is vital in a constantly evolving technological environment."

Tell us something about you that most people don’t know. What is your biggest joy or passion in life?

One of my greatest passions is constantly learning and sharing it with others. I enjoy experimenting with manual and creative activities, such as drawing, painting, modeling in clay, and robotics projects that combine manual skills with IT techniques. These hobbies allow me to disconnect and simultaneously apply useful knowledge in my work.

🔹 I greatly enjoy spending time with my family, especially with my girlfriend, parents, and sister. I love nature, tropical climates, and green landscapes, which are unique because I grew up in a desert area. These moments remind me of the importance of balancing personal and professional life.
