Monitoring a small docker container on large host

When I only need to monitor a small docker container on a large (mem) host, do I still need to pay the license for the full host?

Yes, it's licensing is host based only for agents. However you can now dynamically switch between infrastructure mode (you pay for 0.3x host unit) and full-stack monitoring (full host unit price).
