Timeseries arithmetic

Rudolph_Sedlin

I am currently sending percentage-based approval rate metrics to Dynatrace and creating line-graph dashboards using timeseries like these:

timeseries APPROVAL_RATE=avg(SERVICE_APPROVAL_RATE_OVERALL), interval:1m

That being said, I am unsure how I show the decline rate (1 - Approvals) on those boards, as that requires arithmetic between timeseries presumably. The DQL seems poorly documented, but I would rather not alter my data model to send both approvals and declines.

You can use an array operator to operate on every portion of an array:

timeseries APPROVAL_RATE=avg(SERVICE_APPROVAL_RATE_OVERALL), interval:1m
| fieldsAdd DECLINE=1-APPROVAL_RATE[]
