Classic Dashboards - Setup a Dynamic Filter to Not Populate Graphs Until You Enter Something

In Classic Dashboards, I need to setup a dynamic filter to choose servers for my graphs on demand. The problem is that until I actually enter a filter value, it will look for all servers (with limit). 

Is there any way around this? Basically, I want a dashboard that will startup and not load anything until I choose a server.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi @crabbylou,

I think it is not possible. There would be a workaround. I would organize the hosts to Management Zones (eg. by application level) and Host groups  (eg. by server role within the application). At the dashboard level you can choose the MZ in order to reduce the list of hostgroups or hosts, at dynamic filter you can choose host groups to reduce the list of servers.
