Viewing a dashboard panel - turn on/off series

Once a dashboard graph panel is created and applied to a dashboard, why can the series' not be turned on an off.   It's only possible when configuring in data explorer - which can then mean you accidentally save it and break your panel.

I'd have expected to be able to turn on and off a series as out of the box functionality (seems it's something grafana has aways done - which I've used personally for a while.)

Hi,

I agree, this would be a very useful usability improvement.

At the moment, the ability to hide/show individual series is available while working in Data Explorer, but once the visualization is saved to a dashboard, that interaction is no longer available. The legend on the dashboard is informational only and doesn't let you toggle series visibility

If this functionality is important for your workflows, I'd recommend submitting it as a Product Idea or voting for an existing request in the Dynatrace Community. I think it would be a valuable enhancement to the dashboard experience.

Hey dcole66,

While I don't believe this is possible in classic dashboards, if you're using SaaS there are the new visualization options available in the new dashboards and notebooks which allow for this functionality.

If you select the color icon on the left of a timeseries in the legend, you can hide just that series. If you select the name of the series you can focus directly on that series.
