Issues with RUM JavaScript Injection in Oracle WebLogic and Oracle HTTP Server Environment

We are experiencing an issue where the Dynatrace Real User Monitoring (RUM) JavaScript is not being injected into our web application pages, despite the dtHealthCheck header indicating a successful injection (X-dtHealthCheck: true). As a result, user actions are not being captured under the intended application in Dynatrace but are instead categorized under "unknown hosts."

Environment:

  • Backend Technologies: Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server

  • Application Framework: Java

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Verified dtHealthCheck Header:
The response headers include X-dtHealthCheck: true, suggesting that Dynatrace attempted to inject the RUM JavaScript.

  2. Inspected HTML Source:
Upon examining the HTML source code of our web application pages, the ruxitagent.js script tag is absent, confirming that the RUM JavaScript was not injected.

  3. Checked Application Detection Rules:
Reviewed and confirmed that the application detection rules in Dynatrace are correctly configured to map the application's URL to the intended application in Dynatrace.

  4. Reviewed Server Configurations:
Ensured that the server returns valid HTML with appropriate headers and encodings.
