Hi Guys,
I want to rename the embedded AG in a Dynatrace Managed cluster node.
Please help me with the steps needed to do so.
Thanks

What do you mean by a rename? What problem do you want to solve?

I can think of renaming the cluster node in CMC and it makes sense to me.
Recently I have seen at some customers cluster nodes in CMC with IP address instead of name and based on my findings, this is probably related to missing reverse DNS records for the cluster node IP addresses. And the name was OK a few cluster versions before, so I think the algorithm had changed.

Thanks @Julius L. for this ! renaming Cluster Nodes in CMC was not my initial thought/intent but now if this can be renamed , it will definitely be helpful to give more meaningful names in my environment !

Hi @Julius L. and @HIMANSHU m.
Lately we have found that in order to change the name of the node shown within the CMC ,also for missing names and only IP shown, you will need to change the entries in /etc/hosts & /etc/hostname on the node you want to change the name, and then you will need to reboot this server in order this change to take effect.

Can you please describe your expected outcomes? Embedded ActiveGate is "embedded" and thus considered as part of the Cluster node. Normally you even should not touch its configuration.
Additionally, the embedded ActiveGate is not present in the Deployment status of the Dynatrace Cluster in CMC. I don't remember I've seen a name of the ActiveGate.
Maybe you want to rename the cluster node instead?

The interesting fact is name of nodes are in fact names of embedded AG 😄

My bad for using the wrong words . I actually intend to rename the default network zone which corresponds to the Embedded AG.
So basically I want to get rid of this default N/W Zone name and use a custom one based on my environment (probably rename it same as Cluster Node name which inturn is same as the embedded AG name )

No, I don't think so. It has to remain like that in case no Network Zones matches.
