I am running dynatrace Managed and was wondering what the "hostname" ending with dynatrace-managed.com/ is good for? When resolving it I get the internal address of one node, maybe that is really the internal ip? I guess it can be used internally for them to access the cluster? Anything else?

This is the auto-generated domain by Dynatrace on behalf of customer + certificate from Let's Encrypt . The reason is to deliver valid SSL cert. Domain is handled by Amazon Route53 and bound to cluster nodes' IP addresses.
The domain is created by default for customer convenience, of course customer may opt out of this and use his own domain and configure his SSL certificated. The domain resolves to auto-detected IP addresses (most likely internal ones), but this too can be edited in the CMC UI for each cluster node

I know this post is a little old, but still relevant. I'm curious as to what routing policy is used by the DNS record in Route53?
