"Disk Edge" alerting of different sized disks

Hello community!

I'm working on some alerting of disk space in an environment scope (Settings>Anomaly detection>Disk Edge), not Host/Host Group scope.

*We're in Dynatrace Managed*

I ran into a few problems and wanted to see if anyone knows about solutions/workarounds. I want to alert low disk space at either 2% or 5GB depending on the size of the disk. Alerts should only open on the rule that is less space remaining, this should make the alerts more relevant when they open.

For example,

  1. if a disk has 7 terabytes total, alert at 5GB (0.07% of disk) remaining, not the 142GB that is 2%.
  2. if a disk has 80 gigabytes total, alert at 2% remaining (1.6GB), not at 5GB (6.25% of the disk).

1. How do I make sure that the proper rule is used on the disk that is reaches the 2%/5GB limit? I was unable to see a way to filter by disk size, only by disk name...

This is what I have currently. If I'm not mistaken my problem could be solved by an AND between the two rules, but that doesn't seem to be what's happening here (OR):

2. Additionally, I'm not sure I understand why Mebibytes (MiB) are used instead of Megabytes (MB) when it comes to the configuration of alerts of disk space. The configuration of the threshold is only in MiB or %, but when a problem opens it displays data in MB. Differing units is problematic when it comes to events that arise.

Alert configuration in Mebibytes, data shown in Megabytes:

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the help 🙂
