AntiVirus exclusion on Dynatrace Managed servers

alaaka
Frequent Guest

Hi,

Do we have a list of paths or executables that are required/recommended to be excluded from Antivirus scanning? Appreciate sharing the same from Dynatrace servers (cluster nodes & AGs) and for servers having OneAgent installed on (Windows/Linux)

Thanks..

Here you can find all folders we use in Dynatrace Managed :

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/managed-requirements#storage

and here for Environment / Cluster ActiveGates:

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/activegate-default-settings-linux#directories

However, Antivirus scanning is usually CPU/disk IOPS heavy. So if you really must use it, at best, make sure to scan other storage devices mounted to the system than those that are used by Dynatrace Managed. Otherwise, the scan might cause performance degradation even by scanning a different folder if it's on the same volume/device.

I would recommend to exclude the Cassandra and ElasticSearch datastore at the very least.
