Metric Events limits

When dealing with metric events, you might have to be careful with metric expressions. If not, you might get into situations like this one:

The Settings page has some links to the documentation,

but also a link to Data Explorer, which uses the following metric expression:

  • dsfm:server.anomaly_detection.metric_events.monitored_dimensions:splitBy("dt.config.name"):last:sort(value(auto,descending)):limit(50)

When looking for a good usage of metric expressions in the context of metric events, you should monitor this well, so you don't get affected by throttling.

Great Pro tip @AntonioSousa Its also important to understand the gains/losses and limitations between each type of entity selector as Alerting on missing data is only supported for metric-selector-based query definitions.
