ActiveGate to monitor MongoDB on Kubernetes

tsagredo
Participant

Hello everyone, I need help with the following case.

I have a Mongo DB in Kubernetes that I want to integrate with the MongoDB extension (local or remote monitoring). In order to monitor these components I must do it through the activegate.

The question is where should I install the activegate, will it be within Kubernetes or just in the environment.

Hi @tsagredo ,
The ActiveGate will need to be an environment ActiveGate that has the Extensions 2.0 module enabled, meaning it cannot be containerized. This also means that the MongoDB will be to be externally available from the K8s cluster.

Hi 👋

We are entering the Preview Stage for Database Extensions in K8s. If you are interested, feel free to sign up here

This feature is currently scheduled for General Availability (meaning the newest Dynatrace will include this feature regardless of preview signup) in Q3/2026.
