We are working with the Citrix Netscaler ADC extension and we are having the following situation:
we want to somehow correlate the information that is flowing from the extension with the already monitored hosts and services.
Example:
We have a load balancing virtual server that serves 2 monitored servers. In the backtrace of the dynatrace generated services we can see the IP of the lbvserver, but in the connection all it shows is a "Network Client" without any more info. We would like to link those 2 elements together. An idea we have is to somehow emulate the old entity philosophy, where custom devices were creating services based on IP and port, and hopefully dynatrace will correlate it. But, we don't know how to go implementing this through custom topology. Is there any better way or if there isn't how can we go about it?
Also, an added benefit of correlating the netscaler data would be to add them to Davis analysis, because as it is now they are disjointed if I understand correctly.
