Hi team,
Out of the F5 ActiveGate extension documentation, I had a impression that Dynatrace only collects Metrics (not logs and events). https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/technology-support/dynatrace-extensions/dynatrace-extension-r...
However, when I added the BIGIPs to Dynatrace I noticed it is showing (ie device availability/pool availability) events as well. Are these events derived from the metrics? Or they are output from F5 logs?
Do we have a list of events that Dynatrace collects and reports?
Cheers,
Gabriel

Hello @GabePolar
The same document link you shared has all the metrics information.
https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Extensions/F5-activegate-events/td-p/169368
These are simple traps like OIDs/MIBs we used to get through the SNMP monitoring. The good news is that the log monitoring of the network devices coming soon.

I checked and for the F5 REST extension (not SNMP) there are only info events raised (i.e. non-problem opening events). They are raised if there is an exception not-auth related when connecting to the F5 device and if there are endpoints that are reported as not being available.
These are reported during the execution of the extension based on what is retrieved, so they are not based on metrics or logs.

Hello @JamesKitson
Thank you for the correction and misunderstanding related to F5 monitoring using the ActiveGate extension.
