How to use filters in SNMP v2 extensions?

Both the Generic SNMP (since v1.5.0) and Cisco SNMP extensions (since v1.6.0) support filters for Interface Name, Admin and Operational Status:

I believe they follow the generic extension v2 filtering referenced in
https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/extend-dynatrace/extensions20/data-sources/snmp-extensions/sn...

but in any case, am not absolutely sure...

Has anyone pointers to documentation/examples?

Based on filters you can indeed filter out metric lines based on dimension values. The instructions on the f5 page is the best one as it also has the and/or filters: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/platform-modules/infrastructure-monitoring/networks/f5-extens...

@Mike_L,
Seems good for checking it out! Will try to post back some examples, as I'm dealing with a situation where I believe there are more than 100K interfaces...

Hi @Mike_L !

Do you know how to exclude metrics if a field (such as if.name) is not filled in and doesn't generate a dimension?
For now I can filter correctly if the dimension exist, but I can't filter if the dimension does not exist.
