PostgreSQL extension

Hello,

Has anyone successfully configured the postgreSQL extension?

I've gone thru the documentation at the following links:
https://www.dynatrace.com/hub/detail/postgresdb-remote-monitoring/
https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/ingest-from/dynatrace-activegate/configuration/configure-activegate#...

I have activated the Extensions 1.0 and Extensions 2.0 taking as reference the following dynatrace community issue:
https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Extensions/Failed-to-assign-monitoring-in-MSSQL-Extension/m-p/208...

My dynatrace active gate version is:
Name Version ActiveGate 1.297.7.20240820-171627

The active capabilities/modules are:

Modules

Extensions 1.0 (deprecated)

Enabled

Extensions 2.0

Enabled

Kubernetes

Enabled

OneAgent routing

Enabled

REST API

Enabled

Yet every time I try to configure my PostgreSQL extension I get the following message:

Failed to assign monitoring configuration to ActiveGate. Reason: The monitoring configuration requires ActiveGate version 1.293.0 or later that supports data source sqlPostgres and belongs to group "default"

What am I missing?

Hi,

Looks like is an ActiveGate configuration issue. Extension need to run in a ActiveGate group. You need to define that.

It can be done during ActiveGate installation or later.

Best regards

My suggestion.
Spin a new AG only with extension modules activated, and disable any other module. https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/shortlink/sgw-configure
Assign the AG to a group "Extensions" as suggested by @AntonPineiro  and redeploy the extension in this new AG

Thank you all!
I've come to the understanding that limited options for Extensions 2.0 are available for Active gates in a containerised environment. I guess for now I've got nothing but to wait until the postgreSQL feature is released for K8s environment.
Thanks, MJ
