1000 application rules

We use the application rule functionality for Dynatrace to identify applications.
The limit of 100 application rules has already been increased to 250.

We have around 1000 applications.

Is it possible to reach the 1000 application rules?, Will the performance of the installation be affected? If so, are there other alternatives?

At the moment this is not possible. We have some customers using around 300 applications rules resulting in about 100 applications. We will do some test in order to check if 1000 application rules are possible.
But the main question is if you really need 1000 rules and for how many applications? In order to keep maintenance effort as low as possible, I would limit the number to the absolute minimum.
