Application Cluster Process Availability

Hello,

Could you explain how I can monitor the availability of a custom process in an application cluster, in the passive/active case and in the active/active case. I have the feeling this is related to process group.

Regards

Gautier

hello @gautier_begin

If you need to monitor a specific process on a specific group of hosts, then you only need to set up process availability on the host group where the process actually runs.
If it’s a process that runs globally on all hosts, you can monitor it globally — but be careful: you can’t monitor a process globally if it only runs on a specific host group, as this will lead to false positives.

Hello,

I would like to use availability in a cluster context (like WAS or WebLogic JVMs):

In an active/passive case, we have 2 (or more) machines included in the same cluster.

The normal situation is that the process exists only on one machine. => No alert.

How of be alerted when the process does not exist on any of the machines/nodes of the cluster ?

Hi,

@Peter_Youssef is already pointing you to which configuration you can apply in process group level:
