Auto instrumentation of Oneagent and Active gate metrics

Hi

1. Customer is saying there is a possibility to automate the one agent installation through some script for example python script or any other. Could you please confirm if there is any possibility as such?

2. Also please help us with the metrics that can be monitored on the server on which active gate is installed (Active gate server).

Installing the OneAgent is just the three simple steps on the deploy dynatrace page. Download, verify, run the installation script. You can script that process with any language you want.

As Patrick said installing agent is really simple process and can be done via automation processes. Our clients is doing it daily with our help. Dynatrace provide API url that serves always newest version of agent binary.

About ActiveGate, this component doesn't collect metrics by itself. Metrics can be collected via ActiveGate plugins from external hosts / devices

Regarding your second question - you cannot monitor local server metrics with ActiveGate. You need to install OneAgent on the host to monitor OS metrics. The ActvieGate monitors the CPU usage/RAM, but this is related only to the ActiveGate process itself.
