Define environment variable at host level for process groups

How can I define environment variable at host level t be used for creating process group detection rule based on environment variable as mentioned in below link

I tried to set env variable at host level using below and it comes up in host environment variables but does not show up in process metadata

export DT_CUSTOM_PROP=PG=bgp_tomcat

for processes, you will need to recycle that process for the metadata to show up. Id give that a try and see if it ends up populating.
