Enabling log monitoring at host level programmatically

Hello,

I am looking for ways to enable log monitoring at the host level programmatically. Is there an API for this I can use? Apparently there isn't any as per my discussion with Chat. Only way is to enable manually for each host but that's not possible for me since we have around 5000 hosts in scope (and I want to avoid enabling it globally)

Please help me with this situation if someone has experienced this problem and resolved without putting manual efforts.

Hi,

Can you apply it in host group level?

And maybe you can create a global rule, but adding a host tag condition for your ingestion rule:

Hi, thanks for your reply. Its not possible to enable this at the host group level as far as I know.

Yes, enabling globally seems to be last resort with further condition in ingestion rules but ideally would want to enable it at the host level only

Hi,

Dynatrace allows you to configure it in host group level, but I do not know if matches your requisites.

But I still need to enable it at the host level, correct?

Hi,

If you enable it in host group level, you do not need to do it in host level. But be sure you want that configuration to all hosts in the host groups.
