Guidance on Migrating Dynatrace Users to a New Domain Without Losing Ownerships

Hi Dynatrace Community,

Our company, with over 2,500 Dynatrace users, is planning a migration from Domain A to Domain B. The company itself remains the same; this is purely a change in the commercial domain name. Naturally, this will affect our users’ email addresses.

Currently, we have an integration via CyberArk with SAML for login redirection and authentication using a second factor.

All our existing users are associated with emails like xxxxx@domainA.com. This means that dashboard ownerships, notebooks, workflows, and other assets are linked to those email accounts.

After migrating to Domain B, a new Dynatrace user will be created for each person with the same permissions, since group associations are derived from SAML. However, all assets associated with the old email remain under the previous account, and users will not have access to any of their previous dashboards, notebooks, or workflows.

We would like to hear suggestions or recommended action plans to make this transition as smooth and painless as possible, minimizing disruption to our users.
This is SaaS to the same SaaS.

Thank you in advance for your guidance!

AFAIK - you would lose their identity for existing accounts in the tenant, even if you had 2 SAML tokens from the domain assigned into the same group. The fqdn of the email would not match the previous/existing id - and boom, diferent account. Please tell me there's gotta be some mapping/migration that can be done - just update the email addr/id on existing accounts.

That's what I mean: changing an email address isn't an everyday occurrence, but it's not unusual, for example, when one company acquires another. What should you do in that case?
Perhaps no one has encountered something like this yet using the new Dynatrace, which maintains ownership of some documents. I also opened a support ticket to look into this particular issue.
