If a host is currently monitored via OneAgent and is migrated to a new build (new server version, new IP, possible new name) will the OneAgent also be migrated to the new build and pick up the changes? Do you know if anything needs to be done? Or will we have to install a new OneAgent for the host?

migrated? so from my understanding its a new server, with all new data and therefore it will get a new deployment of the oneagent. As a result, you will need to reinstall it if your server teams dont install it at any time in part of the creation of this new server.

... and it will be a new host in Dynatrace (will have a new host entity ID). the old data will still be kept (for the duration of the data retention settings) as the old host ID, but the new server will start new.

You can always add OneAgent installation as part of your build.

I assume you need "continuous" presence of the same host, even if it's being rebuilded/reinstalled from scratch. Then you need to configure host id source.
So you can have the same ID of the host to compare metrics for example. Just be sure you won't have any duplicates in your environment (two or more hosts having the same ID).
