Import data into Dynatrace

Hi all,

I have a quite simple question I hope.

We are not able to monitor one system directly, as it is running as SaaS.

But this service exports some metrics via API.

Is there a possibility I can add these metrics into dynatrace?

Personally I did not get a chance to work on the Dynatrace Manged or Saas but as per the below link we can fetch the metrics of monitored entities.

Hi Babar,

unfortunately this is not what I need 😞
the service is not already available in dynatrace - therefore I want to import the metrics that the service exposes into dynatrace in the first place.

You can push custom metrics to dynatrace via the custom network devices and metrics API

There is a free quota of 100 metrics / month.

which is the interval that is regarded as best-practice for importing custom metrics into Dynatrace?

For example, i would like to import import metrics in order to correlate them with user session data. Is there a proposed interval for it?

That the depends on your needs, how close to real time you need the data in dynatrace and the interval in which the metric is actually gathered.
