Is there a private node agent for Dynatrace SaaS Synthetic similar to Classic Synthetic? If not, will this be available soon? We would like to use Dynatrace SaaS Synthetic to monitor internal (private) web sites as well as to monitor from internal to external cloud sites.

Not yet, but it is on the roadmap for later this year.

As Patrick mentioned, this is on the roadmap and will be coming out named "HTTP Monitors". It's in a very early stage currently and no exact ETA, but I would watch the blog for more news in the near future.

Private browser monitors (nodes) are on the roadmap an planned for Q4 this year.
Http monitors are available as early access and run on security gateways (private nodes). Http monitors are not the same than browser monitors. Http monitors are doing "just" web requests. Browser monitors drive a chrome browser and therefore loading also all resources for a web application.
@Bill S. if you want to be part of the early access program and try out private http monitors, please contact your service or sales contact.

Thanks for the information. We have several use cases now which could benefit from the private, browser monitor. We are currently using the HTTP monitor which is very helpful. The browser monitor would make this even better! Is there an EAP available yet for this?

As Alexander mentioned above, the EAP is planned for Q4 this year, this is still the case.

Revisiting this thread...will functionality be introduced to allow browser clickpaths using a private node agent for an intranet website?

Yes, this is still on the Roadmap! It wasn't ready to deliver in Q4 18 as planned, but the EAP should be within the next versions.
