Metric ingest and custom buckets

Hello,

can anyone explain how custom buckets and ingested metrics on Grail can be used to achieve a longer retention time than 15 months. The documentation suggests that this is possible but I haven't found any documentation how someone would assign a bucket to ingested metrics? Only for logs and bizevents.

If it is not possible right now, when are metric buckets available?

Not sure but I believe you need to update your rate card with Metrics powered by Grail to enable the metrics bucket configuration : https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/manage/subscriptions-and-licensing/dynatrace-platform-subscription/m...

Wow, that is interesting.
In my customer's case we can already use metrics on grail (suddenly they were available), so I assumed that "just" worked (that environment was part of EAP on Grail for a long time).

You are right, checking the rate card I do see metrics on grail not added. However I see that there is a pricepoint for classic metrics (still in use) and that there is pricepoint for metrics on grail as well. I assume currently (though working) not charged ;-).

Wondering what will happen if I ask the sales rep to add this to the rate card ...
