Did you mean:

MySQL replication lag

Hi, I found this old product idea that was under review, but it seems it wasn't implemented.

I'm looking for replication lag metrics in RDS MySQL databases; I know it is available for Aurora but the client is not using it, yet. Has anyone managed to grab the metric from AWS CloudWatch, which according to this doc, exists for MySQL?

Thanks,
André

@andre_vdveen have you had any luck with this? The Idea is still under review, maybe we need to 'revitalize it'

Hey @ChadTurner, the client luckily switched to Aurora sooner than we expected, so we can get the Replica Lag metric via CloudWatch integration and then add the Aurora service. But I'm sure someone, somewhere is using MySQL and may have a use for it 😉

I think access to MySQL replication metrics would be a really useful addition to the suite of MySQL stats which are available in Dynatrace. I'm relatively new to Dynatrace, having previously worked in New Relic/Nagios and Zabbix monitored environments - all of which have some replication stats. I know it's relatively straightforward to write our own bespoke monitors and alerts, but we're trying to move away from piecemeal monitoring and use Dynatrace as a unified platform.

Thanks
