Hello @Mikhail A.
ActiveGate is a component that can help you reduce the number of outgoing connections and traffic. Therefore, if you plan to install more than 100 OneAgents or if you want to manage large-scale Dynatrace deployments in general, you should consider installing at least one ActiveGate. For 1,000 OneAgents, installing an ActiveGate is highly recommended. You don’t need to install all ActiveGates in advance—you can add additional ActiveGates at any time. If you install multiple ActiveGates in the same environment, your OneAgents and ActiveGates will configure themselves automatically to achieve optimal load balancing.

Hello @Mikhail A.
Basically, this is an optional but recommended component because of the characteristics, so for 1,100 you should have 2 ActiveGate instances or even you can have more.
As per the documentation, for 100 OneAgetns you should consider an ActiveGate in your environment but with 1000 OneAgents must have an ActiveGate.

Hi,
Please have a look at the sizing documentation for Linux ActiveGates and Windows ActiveGates. I also recommend to take in consideration high availability and fail-over (i.e. have at least two ActiveGates per zone).
We also have documentation for the sizing of your disks for a OneAgent on Windows or Linux. For information on memory consumption by the OneAgent have a look here.
