We've got the OneAgent installed on roughly 1400 servers and according to a DQL query there are 55 additional monitoring candidates. However, when we open the Smartscape app, the host count shows over 22,000 hosts. When I hover over some of the unconnected entities displayed they aren't even hosts, they're things like S3 buckets, AWS API usage and billing metrics, and all other sorts of cloud service-related entities.
The Application, Service, and Process, and Data center counts seem to be accurate, its just the Hosts that are orders of magnitude off. This causes the application to load the page extremely slow. Is this expected behavior, or should I open a support ticket?

It's not possible to know the cause without looking at your environment. The most straightforward explanation is that you are using applicationOnly deployment in Kubernetes, where each pod created is a new host.
If you are still in doubt, open a chat with DynatraceOne or a support ticket. What number do you see when you open the list of hosts?
