Platform tokens are user bound tokens that allow a user to interact with the platform services in the reigns of his permissions. They are intended to allow a user to interact with the Dynatrace API and to consume the data which he would normally see on the UI.

@Jon2  HELP!!! I have DT non-prod access as a Standard user yet im unable to see create platform token option under account management -> Platform tokens . I have enterprise given Dynatrace access. Will access level as DT_Champion_User has platform token creation enabled?

what @p_devulapalli said. The other unlikely reason would be that your Account Admin has created an explicit custom policy with "DENY platform-token:tokens:write;" and assigned it one of the user groups you belong to.

Are these platform tokens meant to replace personal access tokens? Today we have some cases where a team may want to ingest logs but PATs don't have the available scope (logs.ingest) so we create a standard api token for this. Are platform tokens meant to be replacement here?
