Why won't DynaTrace show the full Client IP?

We have created a Request Attribute to search for Client IP addresses, but they show up with a final zero (0).

Any reason why we can't see the full IP address?

Applications are behind an Nginx load balancer, but the request header X-Forwarded-For is always sent.

PS: I'm using the admin account with full access. I'm assuming all sensitive data would be visible?

For the record. I found the answer on another post:

Our managed installation had the setting for user's data privacy enabled.

In the environment console, clique Settings > Preferences > Data privacy and security.

Make sure the option disabled: Mask end-user IP addresses and GPS coordinates.

Hello,

I still don't understant why the client IP is not available in a search field by default ! It would so usefull to have it by default. (not having to create a request attribute).

Searching by ip is a classic usecase in dynatrace.

There is this legal requirement called GDPR (Global Data Privacy Regulation) whereby IPs are defined as personal identifiable information and as such must not be captured by default.

This is especially important for users in the EU, but similar regulations exist in other countries as well.
