Tags assigned with a rule need to be manually removed from entities once they no longer match the rule?
Tags can be added to entities automatically, using rules?
Can we tag hosts, process groups, services and applications?
Can we tag individual processes and process groups?

Hello @Monica R.
Automatically applied tags behave just like the manually-applied, except they’re applied automatically to new entities that match defined rules. Automatically applied tags can’t be removed manually from individual services, process groups, process group instances, applications, or hosts. Automatically applied tags are removed automatically once an entity no longer matches a defined rule.

Application can be tagged only manually. You can tag processes using rules but not directly. You can pick host and apply rule that is for this host to process instances that are working on this host. You can’t create rule for process itself. Such rules are available for process groups.
There is one more thing that makes difference between manual and automatically tags. Automatically applied tags has key:value structure, manual are only single value.
