Hi guys,
Prospect security officer ask if there is other ways to secure access to dynatrace SaaS tenant beside username and password. He mentioned that with other SaaS tools he managed to set designated IP's for each user.
Any thing planned for dynatrace SaaS in the near future?

Hello @Yos N.
We will not offer allowed IP ranges for individual users. That's too cumbersome to maintain and to configure.
What's planned is multi-factor authentication, e.g. using a third party TOTP generator to secure login. We do not have a detailed schedule for that yet but it looks like we can release it in the second half of 2018.

Hi @Gerald H.,
a follow-up question since the original question only talked about SaaS: Is that only planned for SaaS or will it come to Managed as well?
best regards

Hi all,
For Managed we already indirectly support MFA via integration with Identity Providers. We leave it to the customer though to configure their IdP so that it works according to their needs.

Hi Wolfgang,
so is this Dynatrace-integrated MFA functionality still coming to Managed or will external IDPs be the only option for the forseeable future? (for example if a customer simply wanted to use the local user database but still use MFA to authenticate these users)
best regards
Franz

What's the status on the multi-factor authentication?

Kris, we are working on SAML (for SaaS) and you can use your own IdP where you can set up multi-factor authentication.
