Hello
When you clone a system where an agent is installed, does this mean the cloned system's agent will be also be visible in dynatrace?

Hi,
Theoretically, this should work because OneAgent has the configuration of how to connect to the Dynatrace server. The name should change after changing hostname. However, I do not have 100% certainty.

Preferred way is to uninstall oneagent on the cloned host and delete the oneagent config directory or at least the ruxithost.id so things won't mess up.
Hi Henk,
Depending on how this system was
cloned there are 2 scenarios.
(Cold cloning) Machine
was cloned while not running – in this case when you start new machine our OneAgent
will detect that host have a new MAC address and will generate new identifier
(OSid) and will be detected as a new host in Dynatrace
(Hot cloning) Machine
was cloned while running – in this case you would have to restart OneAgent and
all deep monitored processes on new host to make sure that it is identified as
new, otherwise data from both hosts might be combined in to one.
If you have any further questions, please let me know.
