Hi everyone,

I’d like to use this space to share an important update with all Dynatrace users working with Synthetic Monitoring.

As outlined in our documentation, Chromium development for the following Linux distributions has stopped at version 133:

  • RHEL 8.x
  • Rocky Linux 8.x
  • Oracle Linux 8.x

Because of this, we can’t guarantee long-term stability or security for synthetic monitor execution on these systems using an outdated browser version.

What’s changing?
We’ve decided to discontinue support for installing Synthetic-enabled ActiveGates on these operating systems starting with ActiveGate version 1.327. The last supported version will be 1.325, scheduled for release in October 2025.

To prevent accidental upgrades, Dynatrace version 1.326 will include mechanisms that block Synthetic-enabled ActiveGates on these OSes from updating beyond 1.325.

⚠️ These changes apply only to ActiveGates used for Synthetic Monitoring. Other use cases are not affected.

What should you do?
To ensure the continued stability and security of your synthetic monitors, we recommend migrating to a supported OS, such as:

  • RHEL 9.x
  • Rocky Linux 9.x
  • Oracle Linux 9.x

If migration isn’t immediately possible, you can continue running your private location on ActiveGate version 1.325 as a temporary workaround.

We hope this gives you enough time to plan ahead. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to share them here — we’re happy to help.

Best regards,

Jacek
