Hello:
So far our managed instance of dynatrace has been used to monitor all on-prem services.
We are in the process of migrating from an on-prem vertica solution to a cloud based DB service known as "snowflake"
Snowflake rents space from Amazon and then offers their services.
Does anyone have experience or insight into how this can be managed with dyantrace?
The community's voice and input is always appreciated 🙂
Kindly,
Chris

Im assuming your running it as IaaS, you should be able to deploy out the oneagent and get metrics back into the Dynatrace UI

If it is not IaaS Are there any hooks Dynatrace has into Amazon?

Hi Chris,
As far as I understand (happy to be corrected) Snowflake does not publish their performance metrics into AWS CloudWatch. That would be Dynatrace standard integration endpoint for ingesting the data.
We would require to create a specific plugin or extension to connect to Snowflake and extract the meaningful metrics to analyze them in Dynatrace. That should be a topic for our Database monitoring team.
Meanwhile, I believe you could get interesting datapoint from installing OneAgents both in Snowflake client and server hosts (if possible).
Could you please also share which metrics/events/problems you are expecting to analyze in Dynatrace from Snowflake?
