Tuning Dynatrace Contenct Capture for Slow Application with High Block Time

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on optimizing the performance of a web application that has been experiencing significant slowness and high block time. As part of our monitoring strategy, we are using Visually complete metrics but don’t seem to fully capture all the issues our application is facing.

Example: The visually complete for a page is 4.89s in Dynatrace. But I am fully able to use the page in a fluent way after 15s.

I suspect that tuning the capturing settings in Dynatrace might help provide more accurate insights and better reflect the performance bottlenecks. Based on the Dynatrace documentation, I’m considering adjusting the following settings:

  1. Threshold: Currently set to 100 pixels.
  2. Inactivity timeout for load actions: Currently set to 2000ms.
  3. Mutation timeout for XHR and custom actions: Currenly set to 50 ms.

Can some one help me to tune this settings in a resonable way? Or suggest to do something else?

@Piermarco,

This seems like something better dealt with Support. Given that "Block Time" might be something very specific of your application, they will be able to better look into the specifics of the issue.
