Can a Dynatrace Synthetic Web Availability Test be run against an API?

I've got a client wondering if they can setup a web availability script to test an API via some XML?

Hi Matthew,

yes that's no problem :). If the API is publicly available your client can go ahead and create a browser monitor for it. Additional in the monitor settings it is possible to add a content validation to verify the API returns the correct data.

Additionally we are currently working on HTTP monitors. HTTP monitors (not using a full browser) are perfect to monitor API endpoints and will also work for internal APIs.
