Unable to change HTTP Synthetic Monitor name – it keeps SYNTHETIC_TEST-*

I’m creating Browser Synthetic monitors.
After creation, the monitor name remains with the default format SYNTHETIC_TEST-XXXX, even though I explicitly change the Monitor Name field in the configuration and save the changes.

Hi,
It should work.

Please try the following: Open the Browser Synthetic test --> Click View settings --> In the Monitor name field, change the name --> Save the changes.

After saving, the monitor should display the updated name correctly instead of the default SYNTHETIC_TEST-XXXX.

If it still doesn’t update:

  • Refresh the page or re-open the test
  • Make sure you’re editing the monitor name, not only the test description

I’ve renamed the monitor multiple times, however it still keeps the SYNTHETIC_TEST-* name.just23k2_0-1766954491488.pngjust23k2_2-1766954516414.png
Additionally, when I create a dashboard, both names appear

(the auto-generated SYNTHETIC_TEST-* and the custom name).

I’ve tested several options and noticed the following:

  • This behavior only happens with Browser synthetic monitors

  • For HTTP synthetic monitors, the dashboards display the correct synthetic monitor name without duplication

So far, the issue seems to be specific to Browser monitors, not HTTP monitors.
