Dynatrace Oneagent is installed on AIX in full stack mode, but processes are not monitored. You get an error message: "Activation of deep monitoring was unsuccessful". Injection is manually disabled.
You have checked the host settings such as monitoring is not disabled in WEB UI either at host level or at process group levels. You have also made sure "Auto-Injection" is enabled under Host->Settings->Host Monitoring->Monitoring.
After checking these configuration, you have restarted the application a few times, but the issue still persists with the same error: "Activation of deep monitoring was unsuccessful". Injection is manually disabled.
If this is the case please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Pull the Support Archive on this particular host.
2. Check the oneagent_kmodloader file which is generally in the directory (logs->process->oneagent_kmodloader_18350354)
If you get a following severe error on AIX version. Check the TL version on your AIX.
2023-05-19 05:20:02 UTC [18350354] info [kmodloader] Using extension /usr/lib/drivers/oneagentkmod 2023-05-19 05:20:02 UTC [18350354] severe [kmodloader] AIX kernel extension requires at least TL5 on AIX 7.1 or TL2 on AIX 7.2. Detected bos.mp64 7.2.0 |
If TL versions is not according the Technology support matrix as listed in the link below, you need to update:
https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/section-technology-support#unix
3. Please restart the applications after update of AIX to correct TL version.
If issue persists please reach out to Product/Tech Support at Dynatrace.
