Was in April 2025 version of Power BI Desktop ... removed in May 2025 update? ... why?

Hello @AlanFoley , the connector is still available. There's no plan to remove it. Can you please share a screenshot of what you see?
Thanks,
Imran

See attached screenshots

Please download May 2025 Power BI Desktop and you will see it is no longer there

Hi Imran

Were you able to verify?

Thanks

Hi Alan,
We checked internally and can't reproduce. We are also running the same version, 2.143.878.0 64-bit (May 2025) and still have the connector. Have you tried checking in Power BI service under dataflow? The connector is available there too. I would also suggest checking from a different workstation just to make sure.

Thanks,
Imran

Hi Imran

Thanks for investigating

I downloaded May 2025 again - I noticed the version has changed:

Product Version: 2.143.1204.0 (25.05)+23c84aace645781dd62b8a26eb0418c7e6a84b72 (x64)

I then upgraded my Power BI Desktop on "Server1" (Prod)  and the problem still persists

However I did an upgrade on "Server2" (Dev) and I can see the Dynatrace connector there

I did also notice that the list of connectors (under Other) on Server1 is much less than on Server2 - very strange

Server1 is a production server so I will schedule a complete uninstall and reinstall

Suffice to say I think the issue may be on Server1

I am not sure if any security policies can be applied on Prod servers in our environemnt specifically related to Power BI Connectors or it is just an issue with an in-place upgrade

I will share my findings in due course

Thanks

Alan
