ActiveGate offline alerting

Hi,

Is it possible to configure an alerting when an ActiveGate goes offline?

Hey Srikanth,

You could alert on a self monitoring activegate metric such as dsfm:active_gate.jvm.cpu_usage. If you split by activegate and then alert on missing data then you'd be able to alert on them going down as when they're down the dsfm:active_gate metrics wont be reported. Would this be what you're looking for?

Thanks much @Fin_Ubels .

This helps to indirectly address the issue I'm trying to solve. I'd be more than happy if Dynatrace had OOTB solution that alerts when an activegate is offline.

I used this setup for one of our customer's env and it works like charm. (maybe you have to play a little bit with advanced model properties to fit your needs).

Hello @SrikanthSamraj

  1. Navigate to Data explorer > type activegate > the related metrics will be filtered and shown through the UI.
  2. For visualization purposes > define the proposed thresholds.
  3. For alerting purposes > configure metric alert following steps provided by @rastislav_danis
