Can you add the AWS instance type to the new server overview page - it is there on the old one?

Not sure what you mean. I can see instance types on the overview page:

I was referring to the host page, on the old page under Properties and Tags the instance type was shown

but it is not available on the new style page

OK. Now, it's clear. Currently, you can recommend to you to create an automatic tagging rule to have instance type in the new view. See an example below:

We're aware of the problem and also about other AWS missing properties in the new view. We're already working on bringing them automatically into view. In the near future (potentially 1.249) we will have instance type there as well.
