The Community Member of The Month for November 2020 is really extraordinary. Let’s all congratulate @Reinhard W., one of our former Product Managers, who now continues his adventure with Dynatrace in other companies. His knowledge about the product is remarkable and we can’t be happier about his contributions to our Community.
Can you tell a little bit about your professional life? Where do you work and what do you do in your job?
After 7 years as a Product Manager at Dynatrace and then at SAP, I moved on to become a self-employed Dynatrace Partner and joined with another former Dynatracer at 360Performance. We help large companies in Europe implementing Dynatrace at high standards.
What is your story with Dynatrace? Why did you start using the product and for what project?
My life with Dynatrace started in 2009 using the famous Ajax Edition. In 2010, I joined Dynatrace and ever since I’ve spent my whole professional career working with customers all over the world, mostly focusing on eCommerce customers and their need for speed! I created the first fastpack for AppMon for a widely used eCommerce Platform (Hybris) and migrated that to Dynatrace on a large scale.
Have you ever had any interesting use case for the Dynatrace product that you found out to be particularly intriguing? Could you tell us about it?
I was operating probably one of the largest Dynatrace Managed installations for a long time with over 5000 individual tenants, with autonomous deployment and configuration management. There is a multiple part blog post series about that:
What brought you to our Community? What is your best memory about it?
The best memory: the side-bar on the community is still in the same style (the rounded rectangles that holds the community announcement) that I myself designed a long time ago.
And how about your life outside the IT – what is your biggest passion?
I’m passionate about nature, hiking, mountaineering and climbing and everything outdoors. But now being a father of a one-year old the focus has shifted towards the little one, less adventures in the outdoors and more family time!
It would also be great if you could share with us your favorite movie, song and/or a book. Let other Community members discover something new and interesting to watch/hear/read 🙂
One of my favorite movies is “The Matrix” – the idea of just living in a computer simulation is weird and fascinating all together. A good read is “Die Vermessung der Welt” I think this was the last book I read that left such an impression!
“The Matrix” made such an impression, when I watched first time (during the VHS era), that I immediately rewind the tape and watched it again. Thank you, Reinhard, for all your contributions, it is a real pleasure to have you in our Community.
